Nagarkurnool: Tension prevailed at the District Collectorate complex after employees noticed a mail threatening to blast the complex with IED explosives before 3.30 pm. on Thursday. The Collector’s office received a mail at around 7.30 p.m. and the employees noticed the mail a little late and immediately alerted the police.
A bomb squad and a team of police personnel arrived at the Collector’s office and checked the entire premises thoroughly. During the searches, employees left the office and returned to work only after the police declared that it was a hoax.
The police identified that the mail was sent in the name of Muppala Laxman Rao. The mail concluded with a religious slogan, police said according to reports. The police said all measures were being taken to identify and nab the person, who sent the mail, the reports added.
