Adilabad: Police counseled minors who were caught while riding two-wheelers and four-wheelers and their parents here on Saturday. Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan was the chief guest of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhil said that riding vehicles by minors was a crime. He stated that parents of the minors would be booked if they allowed their children to ride a bike or car. He advised the youngsters to get driving licenses if they aged above 18. He promised to extend support to the youngsters in obtaining the license if required.
The SP noted that 295 minors were detained while riding during a week-long special drive carried out by the police.
He informed that their vehicles were seized. However, the vehicles were going to be returned to their parents. He stated that the minors, who were recklessly riding vehicles at night, involving road mishaps and claiming lives of the innocent.
Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy, Inspectors Karunakar, Pranay Kumar, D Denkati, T Murali, B Sripal and staffers of the traffic wing were present.
