Telangana: 65-year-old farmer dies after falling in stream
Pedda Jangaiah, a 65-year-old farmer from Gouraram, died after being swept away in the flooded Dundubhi stream while trying to reach his daughter’s home in Potireddipally. Despite rescue efforts by locals, he could not be saved. Police are investigating
Nagarkurnool: A 65-year-old farmer, Pedda Jangaiah, died after he was washed away in the Dundubhi stream while attempting to visit his daughter’s home in Potireddipally on Saturday.
Jangaiah, a resident of Gouraram, tried to cross the stream, which was in spate following three days of incessant rainfall. According to reports, he lost control in the strong current and was swept away.
Local residents who heard his cries rushed to his aid and managed to pull him to the shore. However, Jangaiah had already died by then. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
