Telangana achieved tremendous growth, says Koppula

Jagitial: Welfare Minister Koppula Eashwar on Wednesday said Telangana was placed second in paddy procurement in the country. In undivided Andhra Pradesh, paddy used to be cultivated in only 12 lakh acres, and it shot up to 53 lakh acres after State formation, he said, adding that about three crore metric tonnes of paddy was being produced in two crops.
The Minister hoisted tricolor at Jagitial collectorate office as part of Telangana formation day celebrations on Wednesday. Earlier, Eashwar paid tributes to Telangana martyrs at martyrs’ memorial statue and garlanded the statue of Telangana Thalli.
The Minister congratulated the public, public representatives and officials for successfully completing seven years of State formation, and said Telangana had achieved tremendous growth with 24 hours power supply, Palle and Pattana Pragathi and several other schemes.
Sanction of medical college to Jagitial was an example of how the State has been experiencing growth. It was materialised only because of visionary decisions taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said.
Local MLA Dr Sanjay, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Dava Vasantha, District Collector G Ravi, Superintendent of Police Sindhu Sharma and others participated in the celebrations.
