Hyderabad: To improve sanitation and ensure effective collection of garbage, the State government has added 5,000 more Swachh Auto Tippers (SAT) and extended the reach of door-to-door garbage collection across Telangana.

Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development tweeted that the garbage being lifted has doubled. “A total of 5,000 new swacch autos added to the existing fleet of 5,000 ( ie doubling the capacity) in last 2 years in all 142 urban local bodies (incl @GHMCOnline) in #Telangana, lifting 11000 MTs (as against a total of 5500 MTs earlier) of garbage everyday (100%) @KTRTRS,” he tweeted.
