KARIMNAGAR: Lawyers affiliated to the Karimnagar Bar Association on Friday staged a protest at the district court against the attack on a judge in Rangareddy district court on Thursday. They demanded State and Central governments to take steps to amend Judges Protection Act to provide protection to the judges.

Speaking on the occasion, Bar Association general secretary Mahender Reddy said that attacks are taking place every day in many places across the country, and it was not good for society. Judiciary was the only system which instilled confidence among people. The governments should notice it, he said.

People would lose confidence on judiciary if attacks on judges continued. So, the government should take steps to bring strict laws to protect the interests of judges, he said.
