Wanaparthy: A tattoo on his chest saved the life of a man who was presumed dead after collapsing due to health complications. Family members of Tailam Ramesh, 49, a resident of Peerlagutta in Wanaparthy, had made all arrangements for his funeral before realising he was alive.
The incident occurred on Monday when Ramesh, after visiting a relative’s home and having some snacks, suddenly collapsed. He lay unconscious on the floor without movement, leading family members to assume he had passed away. Believing him dead, they proceeded with the funeral preparations.
Ramesh, an admirer of former Agriculture Minister G Niranjan Reddy, had tattooed the leader’s image on his chest. On learning of his follower’s ‘death’, Niranjan Reddy visited the family to pay his respects.
When Ramesh’s relatives pointed out the tattoo, the former Minister bent down for a closer look. In doing so, he noticed faint signs of breathing and quickly removed the garlands and flowers placed on Ramesh’s body.
On calling out his name, Ramesh responded with slight eyelid movement. Niranjan Reddy immediately rushed him to hospital, where doctors revived him within an hour. Later, following medical advice, Ramesh was shifted to NIMS, Hyderabad, for better treatment.
His family, initially stricken with grief, was left astonished and relieved by his recovery.
