Hyderabad: Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu proposed a partnership between Telangana and Karnataka industry, describing the two states’ strengths as complementary halves of a single value chain.
Delivering the keynote address at the Bengaluru Roadshow of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 on Friday, he said “We have not come to Bengaluru to take anything away. Karnataka has its strengths, and they are extraordinary. Telangana has its own. We have come with humility, to propose a partnership,”
He noted Bengaluru’s standing as India’s startup capital, home to more unicorns than any other Indian city, and as the centre of Indian aerospace and space through HAL, ISRO and NAL.
Setting out the case for partnership, the Minister described how the two States could complement each other: Aircraft engines designed in Bengaluru and machined in Hyderabad’s aerospace parks; vaccines that begin in Bengaluru’s biotech labs and were produced at scale in Genome Valley, which makes a third of the world’s vaccines; chips designed by Bengaluru’s engineers and built into electronics in Telangana’s manufacturing clusters; and Telangana cotton spun in the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and stitched by Bengaluru’s garment houses for global brands.
“Global companies whose first India centre is in Bengaluru, he said, could make Hyderabad their second home, drawing on talent from IISc, IIT Hyderabad, ISB and IIIT, and on startups from T-Hub. Design and scale. Science and manufacturing. Ideas and execution. These are not rival strengths. They are two halves of one value chain,” Sridhar Babu said.
The Minister highlighted Hyderabad’s rise in twelve years into one of the world’s great technology cities, Genome Valley’s emergence as a life-sciences powerhouse, and the global aerospace leaders that build and service engines and aircraft components in the state’s parks.
He also thanked investors for the trust they placed in Telangana at the Telangana Rising Global Summit last December. The Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 will be held from 7 to 9 December 2026 at Bharat Future City, Hyderabad.
“Kempegowda’s towers once marked the limits of a city. Let today mark the end of limits between our two states,” the Minister said, inviting Karnataka’s industry to the summit.
