Hyderabad: The turnout of students at the schools improved on Wednesday with 42.28 per cent attending the in-person classes. On Tuesday, the schools recorded 32.47 per cent attendance.
As per the attendance report released by the School Education Department on Wednesday, of the total 55,42,038 students in 37,647 schools in the State, 23,43,205 students attended in-person classes translating into an attendance percentage of 42.28.
The government schools recorded more attendance compared to private aided and unaided schools. Out of 24,29,640 students in 26,802 government schools, 44.24 per cent were present. Similarly, 10,252 private schools recorded 40.93 per cent students attendance out of 30,31,193 enrolments. Likewise, while there were 81,205 students in 593 private aided schools, 33.84 per cent of students marked their attendance.
After a gap of over three weeks, all educational institutions have resumed physical classes from February 1. Earlier, the educational institutions were given holidays till January 30 in view of the surge in the Covid-19 cases.
