Hyderabad: The Fast Track Court for Expeditious Trial and Disposal of Rape and POCSO Act Cases, Ranga Reddy convicted and sentenced an auto driver involved in a sexual assault of a minor girl to life imprisonment. A fine of Rs 25,000 was imposed on him while a compensation of Rs 5 lakh was awarded to the victim.
The man Tangirala Anji Reddy (29), a resident of Hayathnagar, was arrested in 2020 for sexually assaulting a minor girl. He was remanded in the case. After the trail, the court convicted him and announced the jail sentence on Tuesday. He was shifted to Central Prison Cherlapally.
The case was investigated by K Satish, now working in Intelligence Department, and M Surender, now working as Inspector at Borabanda.
Seven-year-old injured in dog attack in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a seven-year-old boy was attacked by a pack of street dogs at Hayathnagar on the city outskirts on Tuesday.
According to reports, the child was playing in front of his house located at Shivaganga Colony in Hayathnagar when the street dogs, without any provocation, attacked and bit him all over the body. The boy suffered severe injuries, and a part of his ear was also ripped off in the attack.
Residents of the colony who noticed the boy being attacked rushed towards him and chased away the dogs. The boy was shifted to a local hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
The attack was captured on surveillance cameras installed in the area. The local residents complained that the authorities, despite being informed, were not taking any action to contain the street dog menace in the locality.
