Telangana bags awards in ‘Health and Fit Nation’ campaign of MOHFW
The two special awards under the category ‘Health and Fit Nation’ were handed over to State health authorities by Union Minister of State (MoS) for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar on the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day-2021 function held in New Delhi on Monday.
Hyderabad: In a yet another feather in the cap for taking-up unique activities in health care sector, Telangana on Monday secured first place in the country for conducting wellness activities and emerged second for conducting screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) at sub-centre level during the ‘Health and Fit Nation’ campaign, which was organized by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW).
The two special awards under the category ‘Health and Fit Nation’ were handed over to State health authorities by Union Minister of State (MoS) for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar on the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day-2021 function held in New Delhi on Monday.
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the MOHFW organized a campaign ‘Health and Fit Nation’ between September 16 and December 13 across all the sub-centre primary health care facilities in the Country. To be eligible for the awards, the sub-centres had to conduct screening of at least 100 patients for NCDs, conduct a minimum of 10 wellness activities and create digital healthcare identification cards for at least 100 patients.
“I congratulate the health care workers for launching such unique initiatives across all the sub-centres and primary health care centres. Telangana has continued to remain a health champion by taking up such unique initiatives,” Health Minister, T Harish Rao on Monday said.
Senior health officials from MOHFW, New Delhi including Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Rajesh Bhushan, CEO, National Health Authority (NHA), Dr R S Sharma, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, National Health Mission, Vikas Sheel and others handed over the awards to state health authorities.
