Adilabad: A man was arrested for selling petrol unauthorisedly at a bakery here on Wednesday. Police seized 30 liters of fuel from his possession.
Police said that Faizal, the bakery owner, was apprehended for selling petrol to motorists at an old bus stand, violating norms. He was found to have stored the fuel at his bakery and was caught while selling it to certain customers when police raided the bakery, following a complaint.
Meanwhile, SP Akhil Mahajan requested the public not to believe in rumours being spread on social media platforms claiming a shortage of fuel.
He urged people to approach the local police station if the fuel was illegally sold by anyone in the district. He stated that both unauthorised and open sales would lead to fire mishaps, resulting in casualties.
