Hyderabad: The Telangana Basketball Association accorded a warm welcome to young champions Viha Reddy and Netra Birudavolu, who brought glory to the state and the nation by being part of the Indian team that won the FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship Division B in Malaysia.

In a nail-biting final against Iran, India clinched victory by just one point, marking an unforgettable moment in the history of Indian basketball.

Both players, who have trained with dedication and passion, have become an inspiration for the next generation of athletes. Their achievement not only highlights their individual excellence but also reflects the growing strength of Telangana in nurturing basketball talent at the grassroots level.

The champions were given a grand welcome by the Under-13 National Coaching Camp students, who looked up to them as role models of hard work, resilience, and success.

The event was graced by the presence of Telangana Basketball Association President R Sridhar Reddy Garu and General Secretary A Prudhvishwar Reddy Garu, who congratulated the players for their outstanding achievement and assured continued support towards developing basketball in the state.

“This milestone is a proud moment not just for Telangana but for the entire country, showcasing that with the right support and opportunities, our players can shine on the global stage,” Sridhar Reddy said.
