Hyderabad: Welcoming the State budget, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka demanded that the Telangana Government release white papers on irrigation projects and loans raised for execution of different works. There have been reports in media over Krishna River Board Management, Godavari River Management Board issues and also regarding execution of a few irrigation projects without permissions, he said.

Speaking on budget in the Assembly on Wednesday, he said there was lot lot of confusion and fear among people about irrigation projects. Hence a white paper was being demanded. Similarly a white paper on irrigation should be released.

The CLP leader drew criticism from Housing Minister V Prashanth Reddy, when he said the government reduced the financial assistance from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh to people, who construct house in their plots. The Housing Minister said the government had never made any announcement on the financial assistance. Do not mislead the House, he said to the CLP leader.

Further, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka urged the government to hike financial assistance from Rs 3 lakh to at least Rs 8 lakh for constructing houses, considering the rising prices cement and other materials. Responding, Prashanth Reddy shot back asking the CLP leader to share details of the financial assistance being given to people in the Congress-ruled States.

Later, when Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka insisted that State Government procure paddy from farmers, Panchayatraj and Rural Development E Dayakar Rao intervened asking him to get a report on procurements in Congress ruled States. On the CLP leader’s remarks on fighting with Centre to demand allocation of funds and sanction of projects as per AP Reorganisation Act, Dayakar Rao said when TRS MPs were raising the issue in the Parliament, the Congress MPs maintained a strategic silence.
