Hyderabad: Students appearing for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) commencing February 25 will be allowed to sit for the exam even if they are late. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) has decided on a grace period of only five minutes for students to enter the examination centres.

This five-minute grace time norm, which had been extended last year, will be implemented this year as well. The examinations will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, with the last entry into centre being at 9.05 am. Students have been advised to reach the centres by 8.45 am.

The IPE will be conducted from February 25 to March 18. A total of 10,47,815 students enrolled in the intermediate first and second-year streams for the academic year 2025-26. Of the total admitted, 9.96 lakh students paid the examination fee. As many as 1,495 centres have been constituted for smooth conduct of the exams.

Prior to theory examinations, the practical exams for general and vocational streams will be held from February 2 to 21. In addition, English practical exams for the first and second year are scheduled for January 21 and 22. As many as 1,924 centres, including 1,410 for general courses and 484 for vocational streams, have been set up for holding practical exams.

Similarly, the ethics and human values examination (for backlog students only) and environmental education examination will be held on January 23 and 24 respectively.

The TG BIE will issue separate hall tickets for practical and theory examinations. However, the hall ticket number for both the exams will remain the same. Like last year, the theory hall ticket will come printed with a quick response code that enables students to navigate to their respective exam centres.

Scanning the QR code with a smartphone, students can easily identify their examination centre, check the distance, estimate the time required to reach and even get real-time traffic updates.
