Hyderabad: State BJP resident N Ramchander Rao was arrested for participaing in a protest against the Congress government’s failure in fulfilling the promisesmade to the people.
Absolute pandemonium prevailed outside the Assembly when the BJP workers led by Ramchandar Rao tried to lay siege to the Assembly here on Monday.
The Congress party had come to power by promising six guarantees to the people. But in the last two years, the people of Telangana were deceived, and betrayed. The promises made to farmers, women, youth, employees, pensioners, and other sections of society have remained largely unfulfilled, the BJP president charged.
“What was projected as ‘Praja Palana’ has now turned into ‘Praja Mosam’,” Ramchander Rao said in a statement.
Rather thanresponding to public anger over its failures, the Congress government chose to misuse the state machinery against those who were raising their voice on behalf of the people, he slammed.
