Former Minister T Harish Rao welcoming BJP leaders from Zaheerabad into the BRS fold, at his residence in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Sangareddy: Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from Zaheerabad Assembly segment joined the BRS in the presence of former Minister T Harish Rao at his residence in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Harish Rao welcomed former Cane Development Corporation chairman Umakanth Patil, Basvaraj, Vijayendar Reddy, Santosh Patil, Bhumaiah, Lakshmaiah and several others into the party fold by handing them a BRS scarf.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the BJP and the Congress leaders and cadre were looking at the BRS as both the national parties were ignoring the interests of Telangana. He accused the BJP-led Centre of acting against the interests of South India.
Rao said the State government had kept the Sangameshwara and Basaveshwara lift irrigation projects, which the BRS government started to provide irrigation water to Zaheerabad, in cold storage. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was delaying the release of SDF and TFIDC funds besides ignoring Sangareddy’s development.
