Siddipet: Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao has said that Dalit Bandhu scheme will be implemented in all the Assembly Constituencies by March 31 by giving benefits to at least 100 Dalit famillies in each of 119 Constituencies in the State.

Saying that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was planning to allocate Rs 25,000 crore in the ensuing budget to Dalit Bandhu, the Finance Minister demanded that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from Telangana should get funds from the centre if they were really committed to Dalit empowerment.

Addressing the gathering after participating in multiple programmes at Regulapally Cheelapur and Bejjanki villages of Manakondur Assembly Constituency on Saturday, the Minister said that the Centre should consider implementing the scheme across the nation by following the footsteps of the Telangana for the benefit of backward Dalits. He said the Centre has copied Rythu Bandhu by implementing PM Kissan Samma Nidhi, Mission Bhagiratha and Har Ghar Jal and several schemes introduced by the Telangana government. Rao has demanded that the State BJP leaders pursue with the union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to allocate Rs two lakh crores in the union government’s budget for the coming financial year.

Despite facing several financial challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rao said that the Telangana government implemented all the welfare schemes since the Chief Minister was committed to the empowerment of the backward people. Zilla Parishad Chairperson V Roja Sharma, MLA Manakondur Rasamayi Balakishan and others were present.
