Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday requested the police department to take necessary action against those who are attacking party leaders and workers.
In a memorandum submitted to Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) Jitender, a BJP delegation led by the former MLC N Ramachander Rao urged him to take action against highhandedness of some police officials towards the BJP leaders in several districts.
He said these police officials were foisting false cases against the party cadre. “Our party leaders in Huzurnagar, Jangaon, Bhainsa, Bhongir, Nalgonda, Mancherial, Bodhan, Siricilla and Malkajgiri among other areas are facing problems from the police,” he said.
The police officials in these areas were also harassing the family members of several party leaders. A few weeks ago, an advocate Prasanna was attacked by a group in broad daylight on Malkajgiri court premises.
