Telangana braces for heavy rainfall for one more week as IMD issues yellow alert
Alert issued for thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds across all districts of the State
Hyderabad: Heavy rains across Telangana are expected to persist for another week, with the Hyderabad MET department on Thursday issuing a yellow alert for heavy rainfall across multiple districts until June 19.
In addition to the heavy rainfall alert, an alert was issued for thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds across all districts. Hyderabad and its neighbouring districts are also expected to receive rains and thundershowers till June 16. All the zones in Hyderabad, including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, L B Nagar, Secunderabad and Serilingampally, have been issued yellow alerts.
In its weather forecast for the city till June 16, IMD-Hyderabad said “Generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers at times intense spells accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) very likely”.
