Siddipet: BRS leader Madasu Srinivas deposited Rs72,000 in the accounts of three daughters of a farmer who died by suicide recently. He chooses to do the good deed on the occasion of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s birthday on Monday.
Srinivas made fixed deposits of Rs 24,000 each for the three girls, all aged below six years. The moving tale of these three girls was brought to light by social activist and teacher Puli Raju who visited their home at Giripally in Gajwel mandal recently.
Farmer Bandaru Ravidar (32) died by suicide after consuming pesticide on February 10 just a couple of months after his father Mallaiah also died in the same manner.
Ravindar’s wife Anitha and his mother Mallamma were taking care of his three daughters Snehitha (6), Loukya Sri (4) and Rishika (2) apart from trying to clear their mounting debts.
After coming to know the struggles of the family, Srinivas opened three accounts in the post office in these three girl’s names and deposited Rs 24,000 in each of these accounts.
MLC Dr V Yadava Reddy, Vanteru Prathapa Reddy and others accompanied him. Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas said the story of farmer Ravindar’s family stood an example of how the farmers were struggling in Telangana after the Congress came to power.
He also recalled how the BRS government led by K Chandrashekhar Rao changed the face of agriculture by supplying irrigation water to every nook and corner in Telangana.
