Telangana budget on March 20, session to continue till March 30

The Telangana government will present the State budget for 2026-27 on March 20, with the Assembly session continuing till March 30. The schedule was finalised at the BAC meeting, with discussions on the budget set to take place from March 23 to 26

Hyderabad: The State annual budget for the financial year 2026-27 will be presented on March 20 and the budget session will continue till March 30. The decisions were taken during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting held on Monday.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present the budget in the Assembly, while Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu will present the budget in the Legislative Council on the same day. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla addressed the Members of the Assembly and the Legislative Council jointly on Monday. The House will take up discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address on Tuesday and Wednesday.


Discussion on the budget will be held from March 23 to March 26.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar attended the BAC meeting. The main Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was represented by Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao and MLA KP Vivekanand Goud.

Bharatiya Janata Party Floor Leader A Maheshwar Reddy, AIMIM MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and CPI MLA K Sambasiva Rao were also present.

On account of Ugadi on March 19, there will be a holiday. There will be no sitting on March 21 and 22 on account of Ramzan and Sunday, respectively. The Opposition parties suggested that the proceedings be conducted on Sundays as well.
