Telangana Budget: Rs 2,750 crore for Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak
Under this scheme, the State government is giving Rs.1,00,116 assistance to perform marriage of girls from the poorer sections of society.

Hyderabad: The State government has proposed Rs.2,750 crore in the Budget estimates for 2021-22 for Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao intended to help parents who are struggling to perform their daughter’s marriages due to poverty, and Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme were introduced from his humanitarian ideology.
Under this scheme, the State government is giving Rs.1,00,116 assistance to perform marriage of girls from the poorer sections of society. Lakhs of girls are being blessed by the Chief Minister through this scheme, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said while presenting the Budget in the State Assembly on Thursday.
Similarly, for the Muslim girls’ nikha, the same scheme was being implemented under the name Shaadi Mubarak. “Many poor girls’ parents are benefitted under this scheme and are feeling happy to perform their daughters’ marriage. All those poor Muslim girls conveying their best wishes to the Chief Minister, gives immense satisfaction to us,” Harish Rao said.
So far, the government has released Rs.6,480 crore which benefitted 8,04,521 people under this scheme.
