Karimnagar: Generosity is not just confined to the wealthy. Even ordinary people can go to extraordinary lengths to help fellow human beings. This is amply proved in respect of Kannaiah, a butcher.
He came up with a novel way to help the poor people suffering from cancer. Kannaiah, who sells meat in Adarshnagar locality here decided to contribute money to the ‘YouWeCan’ foundation run by former cricketer Yuvaraj Singh for the benefit of cancer patients. The novelty is that he has announced that he would be contributing Rs 50 per every kilogram of mutton he sells every day. He has put a box in which he would deposit the Rs 50 per kg as his donation to the NGO run by Cricketer Yuvraj Singh. This Rs 50 per kg contribution is deposited in front of the customer who buys meat from his shop.
In this regard, he displayed a flexie in front of his shop in Aadarshanagar near the district court in Karimnagar. Its not just the donation, that is attracting hordes of people to his shop. He would give a discount of some Rs 40 per kg to the customers also. If mutton is sold at Rs 740 per kg, he would sell at Rs 700 per kg and then deposit Rs 50 per kg in the box of donations.
Kannaiah told Telangana Today that he was contributing to the noble cause taken up by Yuvaraj Singh to help cancer patients. He said cancer cases were increasing in the country and treatement was becoming expensive day by day. Hailing the efforts of Yuvaraj Singh, he said that he was glad to take part in the initiative launched by Yuvraj by contributing from his profits.
Kannaiah had earlier donated money to film star Sonu Sood’s trust during Covid pandemic in 2020. Then also he adopted the same method, by donating Rs 50 per kg of mutton sold in his shop.
