Hyderabad: The State government’s Resource Mobilisation Cabinet Sub-Committee has decided to accelerate land monetisation and land pooling initiatives across Telangana to strengthen revenue generation.

The committee held detailed discussions on a comprehensive plan prepared by officials to optimise the use of government land assets within the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits. Officials were directed to identify additional land pooling opportunities by adopting transparent models on the lines of the Uppal Bhagayat project. District Collectors of Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri were asked to identify government land parcels and examine the feasibility of land pooling in their districts.

The decisions were taken at a high-level meeting of the Resource Mobilisation Cabinet Sub-Committee chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in Hyderabad on Saturday. IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, a member of the committee, also attended the meeting.

Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to focus on mobilising additional revenue in line with the State Budget requirements and ensure that revenue targets were achieved to support Telangana’s financial growth. The Deputy Chief Minister and Sridhar Babu reviewed the progress made by various departments and discussed measures to identify new avenues for revenue generation.

Bhatti Vikramarka stressed that resource mobilisation should remain aligned with the Budget Estimates for the 2026-27 financial year. He said every available revenue source should be utilised to achieve the prescribed targets. Officials were instructed to adhere to the prescribed implementation schedule and work towards improving revenue collections. He also emphasised the need for close coordination among all departments to strengthen the State’s financial position.

The meeting reviewed the performance of key revenue-generating departments, including Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Industries, Excise, Mining, Revenue, Transport, Stamps and Registration, and Commercial Taxes. Officials were issued clear directions on achieving revenue targets in the coming months.
