Telangana can feed entire nation: Harish Rao

Says set a record by producing 3 crore tonnes of paddy in Yasangi season

Karimnagar: Finance Minister T Harish Rao informed that Telangana State has reached a position where it can feed the entire country. Earlier, Telangana was known for suicides, starvation deaths and migrations. However, the situation changed after the formation of Telangana State, he said.

Telangana State occupied the top spot in paddy production by pushing down Punjab, which was the largest paddy producer in the country. Telangana has set a record by producing 3 crore tonnes of paddy in the Yasangi season. It was materialised only because of Chief Minister’s vision and planning, the Minister said.

He was speaking after welcoming about 150 people from Deshaipalli and Narsingapur of Veenavanka mandal into the TRS fold at Huzurabad on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Chief Minister was working for the welfare of all sections of the society and introduced numerous schemes to strengthen traditional occupations.

Besides 24 hours quality power, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, seeds, and fertilizer have been supplied for farmers. Water problems were solved by completing the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project in a record time, the Minister said, adding that Huzurabad was the first constituency, which enjoyed the benefit of Kaleshwaram water.

Talking about the Huzurabad by-poll, Harish Rao said BJP leader Eatala Rajender resigned to the MLA post for his selfish gain. How could Rajender, who failed to complete double bedroom houses in the last seven years, complete them by sitting in the Opposition if he is elected in by-election, Harish Rao questioned.

People should think whether they wanted the benefit of a single person or the entire Huzurabad constituency, he said and wanted the people to gift Huzurabad to the Chief Minister, who was always working for the welfare of the people. Harish Rao urged the people to elect TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav with a huge majority.
