Telangana CEO directs electoral roll cleanup
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy directed officials to ensure every eligible voter is included in the final electoral roll while removing names of deceased and permanently migrated persons. He stressed verification, error-free SIR implementation and voter awareness.

Hyderabad: Directing officials to include every eligible person’s name in the final electoral list, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy instructed them to identify and remove names of deceased individuals and those who have permanently migrated to other areas.
Sudharshan Reddy, who inspected the SIR of electoral rolls process in Thamsi and Bhimpur mandals in Adilabad district on Wednesday, directed officials to complete the SIR process transparently, without errors and within the stipulated time frame.
The BLOs were asked to rectify any errors regarding voter names, ages, addresses, or other particulars in accordance with the rules. He emphasised that details of voters in every family must be thoroughly examined during the door-to-door survey, and that any modifications, additions, or deletions should be carried out only based on verified information.
Sudarshan Reddy said documents and other details collected at the field level were being examined. He instructed Tahsildars to provide guidance to the individuals concerned in cases where documents are unavailable, ensuring that the necessary documents are collected and fully verified.
The Telangana CEO also inspected the SIR process in Nirmal district, where he instructed officials to create awareness among youth who have attained the age of 18 years to register as voters, besides educating people on checking whether their names are included in the electoral roll.
