Telangana CEO steps up training for officials ahead of April electoral roll revision

Hyderabad: Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy has stepped up training programmes for field-level officials after the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) directions to intensify preparatory work for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls scheduled to commence in April.
As part of these efforts, an online training session was conducted from the CEO’s Office in Hyderabad for Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) of Medchal Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts on Thursday.
A total of 195 AEROs participated in the programme. It was focused on the preparation, updating and maintenance of electoral rolls, with emphasis on accuracy, inclusiveness and transparency in the electoral process.
Reddy emphasised on the need to complete preparatory activities for the upcoming SIR in a timely and systematic manner. He stressed that the role of AEROs was crucial in maintaining the purity of electoral rolls.
