Telangana: Church Pastor killed in road accident near Hanamkonda
A pastor in a church in Karimnagar district was on his way from Hanamkonda to Karimnagar. As the road construction works were going on he took a detour via Husnabad road. On the way, the truck hit his car near Gopalpur crossing
Hanamkonda: A pastor Kanakapudi Karunakar (55) died on the spot, when an oncoming truck rammed into his car near Gopalpur crossing on Karimnagar – Warangal highway in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police had to literally struggle for hours to extricate the body of the pastor from the mangled remains of the car.
Police said Karunakar, a pastor in a church in Karimnagar district was on his way from Hanamkonda to Karimnagar. As the road construction works were going on he took a detour via Husnabad road. On the way, the truck hit his car near Gopalpur crossing.
Passersby called in the police and an ambulance. Officials struggled for over an hour to extricate the body. Police suspect that the truck driver could have been negligent and hit the car. An investigation is in progress.
