Telangana CI wing busts 62 drug networks, arrests 171 suspects
Telangana police’s CI wing, using advanced technology, helped bust 62 drug networks, arrest 171 suspects, and seize drugs worth Rs 189.6 crore, along with seven clandestine units and 56 vehicles, preventing illegal activities and subversive misuse of trafficking networks.

Hyderabad: The counter-intelligence wing of the Telangana police is quietly helping in busting the drug trafficking rackets involving foreign nationals and drug traffickers.
During the current year, on intelligence provided from the counter-intelligence cell, multi-agency operations busted 62 drug networks and arrested 171 suspects, including a Nigerian national. Drugs worth Rs 189.6 crore were seized. An additional seven clandestine manufacturing units and 56 vehicles were seized.
“Our network keeps a tab on all illegal activities. Whenever we get information about any crime, we follow it up with agencies concerned,” said an official.
The CI cell of the Telangana police has high-end equipment to monitor anti-national activities, including communications through dark web and other forms of communication. The men and equipment are deployed as well to bust drug rackets so as to prevent any nefarious elements from using the network for subversive activities.
