Hyderabad: In an attempt to counter the increasing criticism over his government arresting those who questioned him, especially BRS leaders, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday said the BRS was “disturbing” the government on a daily basis.

In a veiled threat to BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said if they continued to act in the same way, the law “would take its own course of action”.

Interestingly, the Chief Minister’s statement came barely hours after several BRS leaders including T Harish Rao, G Jagadish Reddy, Padi Kaushik Reddy and others were arrested in Hyderabad.

“Like a responsible leader K Chandrashekhar Rao should guide and mend his leaders. If you act irresponsibly, it does not augur well for you and the State as well. Allow us to work freely and do not disturb us daily,” Revanth Reddy said after launching the Indiramma Indlu survey mobile app here on Thursday.

At the same time, he also said that as a responsible opposition leader, KCR should share his views with the government and help in getting funds and projects sanctioned to the State from the Central government. Except for a couple of Ministers, the others were inexperienced in the Congress cabinet, he said.

He also appealed to the BRS supremo to participate in the one year Vijayostavalu on December 7, 8 and 9 as they were not Congress party programmes but State festivities. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Rao and protocol officers should make arrangements to invite Chandrashekhar Rao, BJP State president G Kishan Reddy and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay also, he said.

Earlier, Revanth Reddy said it was former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who offered houses and lands to the poor. After introducing the agriculture land ceiling act, about 10 lakh acres of podu lands were offered to the poor and 25 lakh acres to Dalits and needy in Telangana, he said.

“In every village in the State, the lands owned by Dalits cannot be claimed as their ancestral property. Infact, those assets were offered by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi,” he said.

In the Indiramma Indlu scheme, top priority would be accorded to Dalits, Adivasi, farm labourers, sanitary workers and others. Of the Rs.5 lakh to be offered for construction of each house, spread over 400 square feet, the government would be releasing the funds in four installments, he said.

A model house would be constructed in every mandal headquarters for the convenience of beneficiaries in planning and constructing their houses, he added.
