Telangana: Congress leader Kaushik Reddy resigns from party
In a letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Kaushik Reddy said the decision to resign from the party was taken in view of the prevailing political circumstances in the State
Hyderabad: Congress Huzurabad constituency in-charge, P. Kaushik Reddy resigned from the party on Monday.
In a letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Kaushik Reddy said the decision to resign from the party was taken in view of the prevailing political circumstances in the State. He also said he had decided to be part of Telangana’s development.
Kaushik Reddy, who is also PCC Secretary, thanked Sonia Gandhi for giving him an opportunity to be part of Congress party. He also thanked party leader Rahul Gandhi and former TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy for fielding him as Congress candidate in the Huzurabad constituency election.
Earlier in the day, TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee Chairman Kodanda Reddy issued show cause notice to Kaushik Reddy for indulging in anti-party activities. The Committee directed Kaushik Reddy to respond to the notice within 24 hours, failing which stern action would be initiated. There were complaints against Kaushik Reddy that he was taking up anti-Congress activities and was closely associated with TRS leaders, the notice said.
Later in the day, Kodanda Reddy announced that Kaushik Reddy was suspended from the party.
