Sangareddy: A 32-year-old police constable died by suicide after allegedly losing a large sum of money in online games. The incident occurred at Mahabub Sagar Lake on the outskirts of Sangareddy town on Monday.

The constable, identified as Sandeep, was a native of Kalher in the district and had been living in Sangareddy for the past few years with his mother and sister.

Police said Sandeep had borrowed money from friends and colleagues to recover his losses in online gaming. When they began demanding repayment, he reportedly took the extreme step and shot himself.

The body was shifted to the government hospital in Sangareddy for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
