Hyderabad: The Common Post Graduate Entrance Tests (CPGET) 2021 for admissions into various PG courses is tentatively scheduled to held from September 8. Accordingly, Osmania University has issued a notification.

The entrance tests are being conducted for admissions into various PG (MA, MSc, MCom, etc.,), PG diploma and five-year integrated programmes (MA, MSc, MBA) offered by Osmania, Kakatiya, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi, Palamuru, Satavahana Universities and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) for the academic year 2021-2022. The tests will be conducted in 53 subjects as against 51 in the last academic year.

This year, Mahatma Gandhi University and Palamuru University have added MPEd course to the list of admissions. The Palamuru University has also introduced History, while JNTU-H added Mathematics and Physics subjects.

This apart, the Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society has introduced a five-year integrated programme in MSc Chemistry in its two colleges located in Nagarkurnool and Shadnagar. With the introduction of new subjects into the CPGET 2021, about 2,000 more seats will be available to the students. Last year, there were a total of 40,000 seats.

“The eligibility criteria will not be checked before the entrance tests. So, students must carefully go through the eligibility of each subject before applying. If candidates secure a good rank and are found ineligible for the subject in the certificate verification process during the admission counselling, they will not be given the seat,” CPGET 2021 convener I Panduranga Reddy said.

The entrance tests in all the subjects will be of 90 minutes duration. The question paper consists of 100 multiple choice type questions for 100 marks. A detailed schedule of the entrance tests will be made available on the websites www.osmania.ac.in, www.tscpget.com, www.ouadmissions.com, www.cpget.tsche.ac.in at least one week before their commencement.

The online application process is underway and the last date to apply without a late fee is August 25. With a late fee of Rs.500 and Rs.2,000, the applications will be accepted till August 30 and September 3 respectively. The registration fee for a single subject is Rs.800 for OC/BC categories (Rs.600 for SC/ST categories). For each additional subject, a fee of Rs.400 will be charged for all categories.
