Boy killed as auto overturns in Adilabad

Adilabad: A 13-year-old boy was killed when an auto-rickshaw in which he was travelling overturned at Ananthapur village in Indervelli mandal on Saturday.


Police said Suhan, a Class VI student from Gundala village sustained serious injuries, when the three-wheeler turned turtle at a curve near the village. He was immediately shifted to RIMS-Adilabad. He succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

Suhan was travelling in the auto-rickshaw of his uncle Alam, who was transporting groceries in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Based on a complaint, a case was registered. Investigations are under way.

Youth killed in road crash in Gachibowli

Hyderabad: A youth died and his friend was seriously injured when their bike was hit by a rashly driven truck that mowed them down in Gachibowli on Saturday. A rash and negligent driving is suspected to have led to the mishap, police said.

The duo, Durga Kiran (25) and Ramesh were on their way to a friend’s house when the mishap occurred. On reaching Gachibowli junction, the truck driver who was allegedly driving quite speedily, lost control of the steering wheel and hit their bike.

While Kiran died on the spot, his friend was rescued and shifted to hospital by other motorists. His condition is said to be critical.

The Gachibowli police are investigating.

Youth addicted to cricket betting murders woman in Sangareddy

Sangareddy: A youngster addicted to cricket betting allegedly killed a woman and took away gold and money from her. The incident occurred on May 26 night at Rukmapur village and the mystery behind the murder was unravelled by police on Saturday.

Police said the accused person Boini Prasanth (21) of Rukmapur was working in a private company. He reportedly lost a lot of money in betting. Since he had no more money to spend on betting, he decided to kill Borincha Ranemma (50), living in his neighbourhood, to steal gold and cash from her.

He forcibly entered her house on May 26 midnight and smothered her to death and decamped with gold mangalsutra and Rs 2,720 in cash.

During investigation, the Haddanur police found some injuries on Prasanth’s hands which he sustained when Ranemma confronted him. The accused was produced before the media on Saturday.

Two held for robbery in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Petbasheerabad police have nabbed two persons who were involved in a day light robbery case and recovered a gold chain and a bike from them on Saturday.

The arrested duo was identified as N Satish from Siddipet and G Pramod Kumar from Medchal. They were involved in a similar case earlier.

According to the police, Satish and Pramod posing as prospective tenants approached a woman in Devarayamjal in Shamirpet and robbed her. “They asked her to show the tenant portion and the unsuspecting victim allowed them into the house compound. To divert her attention, they requested her for drinking water. When the victim went inside to fetch water, the suspects barged into the house, confined and robbed gold chain and earring from her,” said N Koti Reddy, DCP Medchal.

During the course of the robbery, the assailants intentionally inflicted grievous bodily injuries on the victim.

Based on a complaint, a case was booked and the suspects were identified with the help of CCTV footage collected from the spot and its vicinities and nabbed.

Cops solve murder case, two arrested

Hyderabad: The Suraram police solved the murder case of Syed Danish (25), a cab driver, which was reported on Friday and arrested two persons in connection with the killing on Saturday. A previous enmity led to the killing, the police said.

The arrested persons are Mohd Bilal (32) and Mohd Aslam (28), both from Jeedimetla in Jagadgirigutta.

According to the police, Bilal and Aslam were looking for an opportunity to eliminate Danish due to ongoing disputes between them. On Thursday night, they called Danish for a liquor party near Bathukamma Banda in Suraram.

“They had argued over a trivial matter and an enraged Bilal, with the help of Aslam, stabbed and bludgeoned Danish to death on the spot,” said N Koti Reddy, DCP Medchal.

After confirming Danish had succumbed to the injuries, they disposed the blood-stained clothes and fled from the spot.

Man nabbed for illegally selling Mephentermine Sulphate injections
Hyderabad: The Task Force (South-East) team, along with local police, nabbed one person on charges of illegally procuring and selling the Mephentermine Sulphate injections in Bandlaguda. Officials seized 19 injections, a bike and other material, altogether worth Rs 1.2 lakh.

Police said Abdul Jibran Ansari (30), a welding worker procured the injections from one Sahendra Prasad of Gurugram in Haryana through transport and was selling it to people in Bandlaguda at a higher rate.

Following a tip-off, Ansari was nabbed while transporting the injection vials on his bike and seized them.

Officials said usage of Mephetermine Sulphate injections without any valid doctor prescription causes various health problems.

Three nabbed for selling e-cigarettes
Hyderabad: The Task Force (South-East) team along with the IS Sadan police nabbed three persons on charges of selling the banned e-cigarettes and seized 109 cigarettes, 2 bikes and phones, altogether worth Rs 6 lakh.

The arrested gang members –Syed Idris, Amer Khan and Mohd Asad, all from the city, procured the banned cigarettes from one Shakeer , a dealer from of Delhi and sold it to customers at a higher rates in Hyderabad.

Following a tip-off, the trio was banned and the E-cigarettes and other material were seized and handed over to the IS Sadan police for further action.
