Telangana DCA cracks down on fake drug claims for critical illnesses
Triphala Powder, produced by Manphar Ayurvedic Drugs in Vijayawada, was seized in Jangaon for being marketed with misleading claims of treating cardiovascular disorders, high blood pressure, and ophthalmic issues.

Hyderabad: The Drug Control Administration (DCA), Telangana State seized several drugs that were circulating in the market with misleading claims of treating Cardiovascular disorders, blood pressure, Ophthalmic diseases/disorders, fevers, diabetes, which is in contravention of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, a DCA press release said.
Triphala Powder, manufactured by Manphar Ayurvedic Drugs, Vijayawada, being sold with a misleading claim of treating cardiovascular disorders, high blood pressure, Ophthalmic problems, was seized at Jangaon.
Stocks of ED Phenicol (Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment), manufactured by Eamon Drugs Pvt. Ltd., Indore, Madhya Pradesh, for treatment of prophylaxis and treatment of infections of the eyes, were seized at Jeedimetla. Tulasi Leaf Churnam, manufactured by Akheera Drugs Cosmetics, Balanagar, for treatment of fever, wsa seized at Begumpet.
Kapiva BP Care Juice (Ayurvedic Medicine), manufactured Veloce Herbals Pvt. Ltd., Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh for treatment of Blood Pressure, was seized at Kondapur.
Madhuriktha Powder Diabetes, Samraksha Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Prashanthi Nagar, Kukatpally for treatment of diabetes, was seized at Jagtial.
