Hyderabad: Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman B Vinod Kumar lashed out at BJP leaders for mudslinging at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and challenged them for an open debate on development of Telangana against the BJP-ruled States. He said rather than competing with Telangana in development and people’s welfare, the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States were making false allegations against the Chief Minister during their visit to Telangana.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday, Vinod Kumar said Telangana had developed beyond comparison. He asked whether the BJP leaders were ready for a debate at Ravindra Bharathi in the city, on development in the State against the BJP-ruled States. “If the Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled States are willing to witness the real development first hand, we will arrange for four helicopters. Later, they are welcome to argue about development,” he stated.

The State Planning Board vice-chairman said the BJP and the false propaganda had become inseparable as the party was relying on the latter to win elections in the past. However, he warned that the TRS would no longer tolerate such false propaganda against the Chief Minister or the Telangana government. He pointed out that while BJP national president JP Nadda was in Hyderabad to attend the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) meeting, the BJP leaders were publicising that he had come to support the party State president Bandi Sanjay following the latter’s arrest.

“People of Telangana are aware of these cheap politics. They are not ready to believe in the false propaganda of the BJP leaders,” he said. He added that no other State in the country was implementing as many schemes as Telangana was implementing and advised the BJP leaders to ask the officials working in the Central government about the development in Telangana. The BJP is an anti-people party.

Further, Vinod Kumar advised the BJP leaders against misleading people in the name of nation and religion, to gain votes. He said the patriotism was not BJP’s patent right. “While the BJP is still seeking votes with electoral promises of building a temple for Lord Ram in Ayodhya, our TRS government has completed reconstruction of the Yadadri temple without much publicity,” he said.
