Hyderabad: TRS working president and IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday said the development of the State was the only agenda for his party while the BJP and the Congress had 2,800 agendas for 28 States in the country.

Rama Rao was addressing a gathering at Telangana Bhavan after several BJP leaders led by spokesperson Ravula Sridhar Reddy joined the TRS. “People of the State have been consistently blessing the TRS in every election despite the misleading propaganda unleashed by the BJP and the Congress,” he said.

The Minister, observing that the opposition had campaigned in every election as if it was the end of the road for the TRS, said that during the Assembly elections, the BJP had projected itself as the only viable alternative to the TRS. “But every time, the voters have stood behind the TRS solidly. The BJP, in particular, excels in misinformation campaigns but fails at the grassroots level since the party is not in a position to explain their failure to help a
progressive State like Telangana,” he said.

“The only agenda of the BJP seems to be “Notla Raddu, Rytulu Vaddu and Corporatelu Muddu,” he said, adding that the demonetisation had broken the back of the economy and the recent agriculture laws had pushed farmers into oblivion. “The only people who have benefited are the corporates,” he said. He pointed out that the demonetisation coupled with the Covid-19 lockdown had hurt the country. “The situation is so bad that the country’s GDP growth had fallen below that of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh,” he said.

Stating that there was no place whatsoever in Telangana for communal agenda, he said efforts were being made to tarnish the image of the State only with an eye on political mileage. “Everyone in the party should act as a family. We must care for each other while caring for the people of the State,” he said.
