Telangana DGP appeals for peaceful state bandh, warns against disruption

Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy has called on political parties and citizens to ensure the bandh on 18 October is peaceful. He warned of strict action against any unlawful activity and said police teams will be on high alert across the state.

Hyderabad: Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy has appealed to all political parties and citizens to ensure that the bandh scheduled for October 18 is conducted peacefully.

In a statement issued on Friday, the DGP cautioned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in unlawful or disruptive activities under the pretext of the bandh.

He stated that police personnel and surveillance teams will be on high alert to monitor the situation across the state.

Shivadhar Reddy also directed officials to take all necessary measures to avoid inconvenience to the general public during the bandh.

He further urged citizens to act responsibly and cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and public order.
