Hyderabad: Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy on Tuesday warned that repeated violators of the lockdown will be dealt with sternly.

Talking to the media after inspecting the lockdown implementation at Kukatpally and surrounding areas, the DGP said the government has extended the lockdown in the best interest of the people.

“We cannot just impose a lockdown and keep quiet. It is equally important to see that it is implemented well to achieve the desired results. And that responsibility lies with the police. And the police are working very hard to follow the lockdown restrictions,” he said, adding that there were repeated violators who ventured out without any valid reasons.

“Such people will be dealt with sternly. Their vehicles will be seized and cases will be booked without any hesitation,” Reddy said. Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, Madhapur DCP M Venkateshwarlu and others were present.
