Hyderabad: The Emergency Response Support System (Dial-112), which is now operational in Telangana and managed from TGiCCC in Banjara Hills, has helped in preventing four major crimes including an attempt to rape and molestation incident in the State on Saturday.

This system which was introduced by the central government integrates all major emergency service numbers under one umbrella – police, fire, ambulance, women safety, child protection and disaster management. It plays a vital role in tracing missing persons and preventing serious crimes such as murders and rape attempts.

On Saturday, the system prevented four major incidents including tracing of a missing child, prevention of a rape attempt, an attempted murder, and a molestation case.

In each instance, distress callers contacted Dial-112 from different police jurisdictions across the State.

TGiCCC Director VB Kamalasan Reddy said the Dial-112 team responded swiftly, immediately alerting the police stations concerned. Field officers acted without delay and reached the scenes promptly.

“These incidents underscore the critical importance of prompt emergency response and highlight the effectiveness of the Emergency Response Support System in safeguarding public safety,” Kamalasan Reddy said.

The Telangana Police requested citizens to use Dial-112 services during emergencies.
