Telangana: Discharged after surgery, boy and four others killed in road accident

Tragically, the body of Vivek (6) was brought to the same hospital mortuary within 15 minutes of his discharge from the surgery ward

Telangana: Discharged after surgery, boy and four others killed in road accident

Sangareddy: It was as if death was literally calling them. A family returning from a hospital from where their six-year-old son was discharged after a surgery, met a gory end along with the now cured boy when their car collided with a truck on National Highway 161 near Choutakur here on Friday. Tragically, the body of Vivek (6) was brought to the same hospital mortuary within 15 minutes of his discharge from the surgery ward. In all five persons including his parents and two others died in the accident.

Police said Vivek of Sangaipet in Kulcharam mandal of Medak had undergone apendicitis surgery and got discharged on Friday. His parents Ambadas (33) and Padma (28) had requested Fr Luka and his wife Devena to conduct a prayer at the time of discharge. The parents and the couple prayed and got out of the hospital in Fr Luka’s car. As they were on their way to their village, a lorry hit their car leading to the death of all the five.

Meanwhile, Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran and DSP Balaji A Balaji reached the accident spot and examined the accident scene. The MLA has comforted the relatives of the victims. The bodies have been shifted to Government Hospital Sangareddy for postmortem.
