Telangana districts pounded by heavy rain, Hyderabad on alert for heavy downpour
Heavy to extremely heavy rains have battered several Telangana districts since Tuesday night due to a low-pressure area near Andhra Pradesh. Mancherial, Asifabad, Mulugu, and Jayashankar Bhupalapally saw significant downpours, with Kannepalli in Mancherial recording 233.5 mm.

Hyderabad: Under the influence of a low pressure area near Andhra Pradesh, heavy to extremely heavy rains have lashed multiple districts of Telangana since Tuesday night. While Hyderabad and its surrounding districts have largely received light to moderate showers ranging up to 25 mm of rainfall, the rest of Telangana experienced significant rainfall from Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.
The districts that have taken the most pounding, in terms of rain, include Mancherial, Asifabad, Mulugu, Jayashankar Bhupalapally and Peddapalli. The highest rainfall was recorded at multiple regions of Mancherial districts including Kannepalli (233.5 mm), Bheemini (226.8 mm) and Tandur (182.8 mm). Some of the areas that received maximum rainfall in Asifabad district include Rebbena (220.8 mm), Tiryani (143.8 mm), Kunchavelli (127.5 mm), in Jayashankar Bhupallapally district, Chityal (180. mm).
