Hyderabad: Upset by lack of transparency over ongoing transfers within the health department, the senior doctors from Osmania General Hospital (OGH) and Gandhi Hospital (GH) on Friday morning suspended outpatient services.

The suspension of the outpatient facilities at OGH and Gandhi Hospital could have its impact on OP services, even as the senior hospital management has initiated back-up plans to ensure the vital medical services at emergency continue.

“Our members of OGH and Gandhi Hospital are upset over the way the State government is implementing the transfers. Although TGGDA did not formally announce the suspension of health care services, our members at Gandhi and OGH have decided to take such measures. We will hold another round of meeting with our members and the State government to resolve all outstanding issues,” president, TGGDA, Dr B Narahari said.

On Thursday night, Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA), had warned of launching a statewide suspension of medical services, if the process of transfers is not made transparent.

The TGGDA is demanding that the State government fully and transparently implement G.O. No. 38 and address concerns raised by doctors.
