Hyderabad: The Telangana Doctors Federation (TDF) on Thursday expressed serious concern regarding allegations of irregularities in the Assistant Professor recruitment process conducted by the Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB), Telangana.
“As per multiple reports and representations from aspirant candidates, significant discrepancies have been highlighted in the recruitment process, including concerns over transparency in evaluation and selection,” Dr P S Vijayender, president, TDF, in a press release said.
The Federation alleged inconsistencies in allocation of marks and that the recruitment process may not have adhered strictly to merit-based selection. “Reports of financial demands ranging from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 20 lakh for securing posts have been brought to attention. Approximately 174 Assistant Professor posts across various specialties are under scrutiny,” it said.
The TDF emphasised that recruitment in medical education must be conducted with the highest standards of transparency, merit, and accountability, as deviation from these principles impacts the quality of healthcare delivery and medical education.
The Doctors’ Forum has urged a thorough and impartial inquiry into the recruitment process.
