Hyderabad: Former BJP MLA NVSS Prabhakar here on Saturday criticised the former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s daughter YS Sharmila for making remarks against the BJP-led NDA government alleging that it failed to deliver the promises like setting up railway coach factory and turmeric board in Telangana.
Before criticising the BJP, he advised Sharmila to know how corruption prevailed during ‘Rajanna Rajyam’ tenure in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Several Ministers and IAS officers were still attending to court hearings after various cases including disproportionate assets case booked against them, he said.
“Is this ‘Rajanna Rajyam’?” he questioned while addressing a press conference and reminded that Sharmila’s brother and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was also facing cases.
Taking pot-shots at Sharmila for the remarks made against the BJP during public meeting in Khammam district on Friday, Prabhakar alleged that ‘Jala Yagnam’ has turned into ‘Dhana Yagnam’ during the same ‘Rajanna Rajyam’.
“The Telangana people are not interested in Rajanna Rajyam,” he said. Prabhakar requested the police department to take necessary action against Sharmila for organising the meeting in violation of Covid-19 rules.
