Siddipet: Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy came down heavily on the Congress government on Monday for stalling progress on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) canals and other pending works in his constituency, including the Irkode piped irrigation scheme.
After inspecting the Irkode project works at Yellareddypet in Thoguta mandal, Reddy pointed out that once the pump house is completed, irrigation water will be supplied to over 17,000 acres across 21 villages surrounding the Mallanna Sagar reservoir.
He accused the Congress government of engaging in “false propaganda” against the KLIP, while failing to make any substantial progress themselves. “All they’ve done is criticise former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. They conveniently ignore that he built multiple reservoirs and barrages and brought lakhs of acres under cultivation,” he said.
Calling for urgent action, Reddy demanded that Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy expedite the Irkode irrigation works to benefit the farmers of the 21 villages dependent on the project.
