Telangana EAGLE Force seizes Rs 42.98 crore drugs in State, nationwide operations
Telangana’s EAGLE Force conducted nationwide operations, seizing 107 bank accounts and Alprazolam worth Rs 42.98 crore. Operation Kallu closed illegal factories, while awareness programmes, college committees, and school Prahari Clubs helped enroll nearly 48,000 Anti-Drug Soldiers across the State.

Hyderabad: The Telangana anti-narcotics agency ‘EAGLE Force’, during the year, conducted interstate operations across different States in the country and caught several drug traffickers. A total of 107 bank accounts used by the drug traffickers were seized.
“Joint operations were conducted recently in New Delhi with the help of the local police. Several locals and South Africans were apprehended during the operation,” said an official of Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE).
As part of “Operation Kallu”, undertaken following deaths due to consumption of adulterated toddy, the EAGLE team seized Alprazolam worth Rs 42.98 crore and ensured closure of factories in Telangana and Maharashtra.
The EAGLE Force conducted 571 awareness programmes across the State during the year. Anti-Drug Committees were formed in colleges and 20,989 Prahari Clubs were formed in schools. So far, 47,881 persons have enrolled as Anti-Drug Soldiers in the State.
