Hyderabad: The Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2022 will be conducted on July 14, 15, 18, 19 and 20.
While the entrance test for agriculture is scheduled for July 14 and 15, the test for admissions into various engineering courses is on July 18, 19 and 20. Similarly, the Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS ECET) 2022 will be held on July 13, Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy said here on Tuesday.
These common entrance tests would be conducted in 105 exam centres in 23 regional centres, the Minister said, adding that registration fee and other details would be announced in the detailed notifications by common entrance tests conveners.
Officials said the TS EAMCET 2022 would be conducted covering 70 per cent of the intermediate syllabus. This decision was taken as the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education had decided to hold inter public exams covering 70 per cent of the total syllabus as enough number of physical classes could not be conducted during the academic year 2021-22 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The aggregate marks in the intermediate for admissions into various courses through the TS EAMCET 2022 are likely to be relaxed to ‘pass’ in intermediate. As per rule, 45 per cent (40 per cent for SC/ST category) of marks is a must for admission. However, this norm is likely to be relaxed as all second-year students were passed considering their first-year scores and second-year students who had backlogs in the first-year were given minimum qualifying marks in 2021 as exams could not be held due to the pandemic.
This apart, as low pass percentage was registered by second-year students in the first-year exams held during 2021-22, the government had granted minimum qualifying marks to all failed students in these exams. Like last year, TS EAMCET ranks may be arrived at by considering entrance test scores only instead of giving weightage to intermediate marks.
