Telangana Ease of Doing Business ranking fell under Congress, alleges K Sanjay

BRS MLA K Sanjay alleged that Telangana's investment climate has worsened under the Congress government, claiming the State's Ease of Doing Business ranking slipped, industries moved out, and IT employment declined despite the renaming of TS-iPASS as TG-iPASS.

Hyderabad: BRS MLA K Sanjay raised concerns over the deteriorating investment climate in Telangana under the Congress government. He said the State’s Ease of Doing Business ranking had slipped from among the top three to 13th after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy assumed office.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, Sanjay said Telangana consistently ranked among the top three States during the BRS regime, with the TS-iPASS policy earning recognition from NITI Aayog. He alleged that the present government had merely renamed TS-iPASS as TG-iPASS without introducing meaningful reforms, resulting in fewer industries setting up during 2025-26 and companies shifting investments out of Telangana.

He said the BRS government facilitated over 18 lakh jobs through TS-iPASS and helped IT exports cross Rs 2 lakh crore, while IT employment allegedly declined under the Congress government.

Targeting both the State and the Centre, Sanjay accused the Congress government of creating an unfavourable environment for investors. He questioned the contribution of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and seven other BJP MPs in bringing industries to Telangana.

Referring to Telangana’s startup ecosystem, Sanjay said companies such as Skyroot had grown after emerging from T-Hub during the BRS regime. He alleged that people continued to remember the developmental initiatives undertaken under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, while Revanth Reddy was driving away investors by misusing his position for settlements.
